This way, when it comes time for moving day, you’ll only keep those items that are important to you! Everything else should go.
Host A (Virtual) Yard Sale And Consider Donating
If you have a lot of items that are still in good condition but just don’t fit into your life anymore, consider hosting a virtual yard sale. Use sites like Craigslist, eBay and Facebook Marketplace to sell those things quickly and make money!
If you are so inclined, you can also run a traditional garage sale where you place everything out on the lawn on a Saturday morning and put up signs to let the neighborhood know.
Donate Everything Else
If you don’t have the time to post ads online or run a yard sale, consider donating your old items to a local thrift shop instead of throwing them out. Many thrift shops will even come and pick up your unwanted items, which saves you from having to drive a load of stuff over somewhere to drop it off. Call up your local shops of choice and see if they accept donations. If not, they will be able to refer you to other local organizations that are interested.
And the best part is that thrift shops are usually run by charity organizations, so you know the proceeds from the sale of your items will be going to a good cause!
